Which uninsured patients will benefit from free tests

From July 1, medically uninsured persons with suspicion or diagnosis of oncological diseases, hepatitis B and C or HIV virus will have the same rights as those insured. It is a provision of the new framework contract that also comes with other changes.

The framework contract that will enter into force after July 1 and in which the same value of the medical services point will be maintained provides, as a novelty, service packages for uninsured persons in order to detect serious ailments such as cancer, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS in pregnant women , announced the president of the National House of Health, Valeria Herdea. “It is expected that family doctors will be able to send uninsured people for investigations in case of suspicion of oncological diseases, hepatitis B and C and the HIV virus in pregnant women, services that will be settled by the National House of Health”, said the official. According to CNAS, in Romania there are approximately 16.5 million insured and 3 million uninsured people.

However, the doctors received even better news: both in the primary medical care and in the specialized outpatient clinic, the point values ​​will be maintained. Valeria Herdea stated that it is not about large amounts, but even so, this money will help the doctors to continue their work. “We would like a much better financing, but in the current conditions we believe that it is a desired goal achieved.”

Currently, for primary medical assistance, the point value per capita is 12 lei, and per medical service 8 lei. 4.5 lei will be offered for specialized ambulatory medical assistance for the medical service point. CNAS representatives also support the ceiling of 6,000 lei/month for dental medical assistance. The CNAS president hopes that at the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter of the current year, when there will be a budget rectification, the point values ​​for medical services will be renegotiated.
