The following candidates came to the debate: Mircea Geoană, Elena Lasconi, Kelemen Hunor, Geoge Simion, Ludovic Orban and Cristian Diaconescu.

Elena Lasconi, USR candidate in the presidential elections and mayor of Câmpulung Muscel in her second term, told in the Digi 24 debate how the relationship between state institutions and people changed.

“The fact that I worked for the people in the last four years was seen in the vote, 70% of the people of Câmpulung voted for me. We have harmonized the relations between state institutions and the relations between state institutions and people. And I can do it as president. In the first months, when I entered the City Hall and said to the people in the offices: “Good morning. What are you doing?” And people were scared”stated Elena Lasconi.

She also referred to how Romania could attract more foreign investors.

“We look at the European Union like a piggy bank. It is essential to rethink economic diplomacy. We do not have representativeness in the embassies in order to attract investors. You cannot attract foreign investors if you change the legislation 2-3 times a year. You have to fight for the Romanians, for the interests of Romania”added Elena Lasconi.

The moderators of the debate with the five candidates for the presidential elections are Cosmin Prelipceanu and Liliana Ruse, and another desk has been reserved for UBB rector, Daniel David, who will ask questions of each candidate and make a post-debate analysis of the performance of each presidential candidate.
