The tips left on the Romanian coast have declined considerably compared to the past years, say the employees of the terraces and beaches. Although they worked for hours in the sun to serve tourists, the amounts left beside the payment note were much lower than other seasons.

An employee at a terrace on the beach, Alexandra, saved almost 5,000 lei from salary in three months, money she will use for the faculty tax and some personal shopping. The tips, however, were far below expectations.
“I did not collect them from the tips. Now we can make 20-30 lei per person, instead I was coming out with 50-60 lei”, He said, reports Pro TV news.
Miruna, bartender at Mamaia for the fourth season, says the revenues have been considerably reduced.
“Compared to previous years, it was very weak, but as much as we managed to keep on the waterline, we managed to raise money for the faculties, possibly for the permit”, she said.
Neither the employees on the beach, who bring loungers and mattresses, did not have a better season, and at self -service few customers left the tip. “This summer was weaker than other summers, except that we, as employers, tried to compensate, that is, we offered them free transport, three meals said Cristina Crăciun, engaged in a self -service.
Tourists claim to leave tip only when services are of quality: “Always when we are treated well and the service is ok. Plus how he talks to you first, how he is careful with you.”
With the proximity of the new school and university year, many young seasonal employees end their activity on the coast and are preparing to go home.
The summer season this year was much weaker than other years, given that the payment with the holiday vouchers experienced a major decline, with almost 75%, according to market estimates. Even though the resorts were animated in August, it was not enough, and many operators decided to close earlier.
Romanians complain that the Romanian coast has remained almost unchanged since the 90s, and the conditions are generally incomparably worse than in the resorts in other countries. In addition, the prices are unjustified high, from the perspective of customers.
