Cristina Cioran spoke publicly, for the first time, about the extremely difficult period her family is going through, after Alex Dobrescu, the father of her two children, was definitively sentenced to four years in prison with execution. The 48-year-old actress made emotional revelations about the day-to-day struggle to protect her children.
Mother of two children, Ema (4 and a half years) and Max (11 months), Cristina Cioran confessed in a podcast that, despite the complicated situation, she considers herself a fulfilled person. The last year was full of tension and instability in the relationship with Alex Dobrescu, who was absent from their daughter’s life for a long time.
In February 2025, the star became a mother for the second time, giving birth to Max, but shortly after the birth of the child, his father was arrested and later sentenced, spending very little time with his son.
Cristina Cioran chose not to tell her children the truth about their father’s imprisonment. If Max is too young to understand what is happening, Ema misses him deeply and asks her mother every day when he will come home.
“Ema doesn’t know where her father is now. Although she asks me every day: When is he coming home, but he will come again, yes? Anyone can say anything from home, people can comment and overcomment on me, they don’t live in my house, they don’t live with my child and they will never understand what my child feels.” Cristina Cioran said in Jorge’s podcast.
The actress emphasized that she wants Alex Dobrescu to remain present in the children’s lives and to assume the role of father, but excludes a possible reconciliation on a sentimental level. However, Cristina Cioran admitted that she misses the time when they were a happy couple.
“I miss the way we used to be, when we loved each other! No, because wounds hurt. They heal, but scars remain,” the star also said.

In March 2025, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) – Central Structure ordered the detention of two defendants, aged 28 and 40, investigated for the crime of domestic high-risk drug trafficking. The 40-year-old man is Alex Dobrescu, and he is accused of possessing and selling cocaine.
