Classes suspended due to the weather in several schools in Hunedoara, Mehedinți, Sălaj, Galați and Prahova

Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, which caused interruptions of electricity, heating agent and impassable roads, several educational units in Romania will suspend classes with physical presence on January 8 and 9, 2026.

In Hunedoara countythere will be no classes at General Berthelot Primary School and Răchitova Secondary School, and in MEHEDINŢIat Balta High School. In gym, the suspension applies to Secondary School No. 1 of Marca, Glod Primary School and Technological High School “Mihai Viteazu” FROM I made a fuss.

Also in Galati county“Radu Negru” Technological High School and “St. Stelian” Kindergarten, structure of Kindergarten with Extended Program No. 30 from Galați, will hold online classes on January 8 and 9 (only kindergarten on January 8). In PrahovaKindergarten with Extended Program No. 35 from Ploiești will switch to online classes between January 8-16, as a result of the works to replace gas pipes and radiators.

The administrative boards of the affected units will establish measures to recover the suspended hours, and the information will be updated according to the evolution of the situation and the decisions taken at the county level.
