According to witnesses, the swarm initially gathered on the car in the parking lot, after which it spread to the surrounding areas, including the facade of the buildings. Due to the large number of insects, several people called the emergency number 112.

Thus, fire crews intervened on the scene, and the local authorities requested the support of a beekeeper to capture and relocate the swarm.

The area was temporarily cordoned off and pedestrian access was restricted until the intervention was completed.

The images sparked numerous comments on social media, from ironies to remarks about the intervention of the authorities.

“Good sign! Honey will flow in Alexandria. We still have to get milk and we will have milk and honey. Envious people! Today, May 18, a swarm of bees stopped in Alexandria. They settled on a car and on the facade of a medical clinic. Don’t be bad! The bees draw honey. What were you thinking… it’s with flies… We are no longer the poorest county. We have bees. Sack!”, a wrote popular music singer Florin Vasilića, on Facebook.

“It seems, rather, a news story about the brand of car on which the bee swarm settled and less about informing passers-by in the vicinity of the respective area”someone else added

“If bees also like BMW, why didn’t they come to Dacia Logan?“, another person wrote.

“In Spain, they announced a few days ago on TV that we will have an invasion of bees, and look what happened in Romania”someone else said.

“Some would say it’s a coop, but the bees chose to make it a hive,” another person commented.

“A beekeeper comes, takes the swarm and forms a hive. That’s how it’s done. You say the drone has come, even then there’s not so much commotion”another netizen said.

“Honey has begun to flow, milk will flow later. Good signs in Alexandria!”“, another user wrote.

“If the bees shoot at the BMW, it’s a sign… real moneyno,” someone else added.

The appearance of this swarm of bees is a temporary natural phenomenon, usually caused by a stray queen.
