To promote a movie, Netflix hired a person to “live” in a fully furnished house built inside a 30-foot-tall billboard in Hollywood.

It is about “The Last House”, a sci-fi movie released on Friday, August 7. The man lived in that “house” for three days, from Thursday to Saturday, writes the New York Post.
The message is written on the outside of the makeshift home: “How long can you survive?”.
“While trying to lead as normal a life as possible in the confined space, he will communicate with drivers and passers-by below using a whiteboard – a chilling reference to the situation the film’s main characters find themselves in,” Netflix streamed.
In a video posted on social media, the man can be seen lying on a couch and waving to people inside “dwelling”. Images also appeared of him holding whiteboards with messages such as “what’s going on” and “I’m stuck here.”
Many users on social media thought it was a very good idea to promote the film.
“I wave at this guy every day when I go to the gym. It’s pretty cool if you see him. It’s just crazy to see a house in the air.” one person wrote.
“An ingenious publicity stunt. The fact that the promotional strategy replicates the premise of the film is a very good idea,” someone else commented.
“I hope they have air conditioning”a third user wrote.
There were also people who asked more obvious questions, like where does the man go to the bathroom.
It’s all part of the campaign to promote the streaming platform’s new sci-fi film, directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura. The characters played by the two end up, under mysterious circumstances, stuck in their own home.
“A family mysteriously trapped in their own home must work together to survive as resources dwindle and the mysterious force holding them captive continues to act,” it is shown in the description of the film.
As the story progresses, the family discovers that they are not the only ones stuck in the house, but that the same situation affects people all over the world. Director Louis Leterrier presents the home, usually a safe space, as a hostile environment that tests the limits of a family and forces members to band together to survive.
