Hungary’s Ozora festival, one of Europe’s most famous psychedelic music events, has been canceled after the deaths of two attendees.
The Ozora Festival, held annually in central Hungary and known to the international community of psychedelic music lovers, suspended its concerts on Sunday, August 2, following two tragic incidents that occurred during this year’s edition.
Organizers announced that all music programs would be stopped at midnight, including those on the Pumpui stage, although the event was scheduled to continue until Monday, August 3. The decision came after two participants died on the same day.
The first tragedy occurred on Saturday, August 1, when a 39-year-old woman from Hungary suffered a cardiac arrest during the concerts. Medical crews quickly arrived on the scene and tried to save his life, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
Also on Saturday, a little later, a 45-year-old American man died after falling from a decorative structure near the main stage. According to the organizers, he would have climbed the structure with the intention of committing suicide, and the exact circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the authorities.

The suspension of the program took place over a weekend when Hungary faced extreme temperatures. The thermal values reached up to 40 degrees Celsius, and the authorities issued the highest heatwave alert.
Organized in the town of Dádpuszta, in central Hungary, the Ozora Festival annually attracts thousands of participants from all over the world and is considered one of the most important events dedicated to trance music and psychedelic culture.
This year’s edition started on July 24 and was supposed to end on August 3, but the last few hours of concerts were canceled after the tragic events on Saturday.
