As part of their first trip to South America, with performances and concerts scheduled in Lima, Cusco and Aguas Caliente, the National Chamber Choir “Madrigal – Marin Constantin” team organized the filming for the second episode of their series entitled “Contemporary Romanian Music in contemporary ancient spaces”. This series of events represents an exciting foray into the meeting between contemporary music and history.

At an altitude of 2,400 meters, in the heart of Machu Picchu, one of the most fascinating and enigmatic archaeological sites in the world, the choristers performed “Machu Picchu – Choral Suite from Ţara Oașului”, a masterpiece composed by the talented Romanian musician, Dariu Pop.

The new video, which has its roots in the creation of Dariu Pop and in the unmistakable interpretation of the Madrigal Choir, will be released to the delight of the public at the end of April, promising to offer an unforgettable musical and visual experience.

This daring artistic adventure comes shortly after the first episode of the series, titled “Sarmizegetusa Regia – Flames and Wheels”, was filmed in the Dacian site in the Oaş Mountains and released on January 15, on the occasion of the National Culture Day.

Machu Picchu, known as the “lost city of the Incas”, has been a UNESCO world heritage treasure since 1983. It is considered a true masterpiece of architecture and one of the most impressive testimonies of the Inca civilization.

The Madrigal Tour in Peru was made with the support of the Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Peru, the Ministry of Culture and the Romanian Cultural Institute, emphasizing the importance of cultural and diplomatic collaboration in promoting art and cultural heritage throughout the world.
