Dominic Fritz believes that the result of the US midterm elections shows that “the system can be defeated” and that voters “rejected hateful rhetoric and self-serving politics that do not deliver for them”. The president of the USR presented three conclusions for Romania and launched a warning for the Social Democratic Party.
“Good historical morning! Election carnage in the US – the Democrats won an overwhelming victory and will have a clear majority in both houses of congress. Donald Trump is becoming «duck blades»he has two years left of his presidency without power in the congress,” the USR leader wrote on Facebook.
Presenting “3 quick conclusions for Romania”, Fritz stated that “American voters voted for a clear change, although until a few months ago everyone said that it was impossible to change the Senate as well”: “Kansas, for example, will send a Democratic senator to Washington, DC for the first time since 1932, something unthinkable until now”.
“So let’s stop hearing that we can’t win, that we’re too dreamy. After Hungary and Serbia, it’s another example: The system can be defeated, if we organize ourselves and don’t let ourselves be intimidated.”
He also added that “American voters have rejected hateful rhetoric and selfish politics that do not deliver results for them.”
“Notice to the arrogant scumbags in Romania (I’m looking at you, PSD): Romanians’ anger about your shamelessly displayed corruption, while prices go up for everyone, will sweep you away too.”
“3. MAGA will be history, and Romania must build the strategic partnership with the USA without turning ideologically in the direction of the extreme right. We are European and based on our common interests we can be partners with the USA without bowing our heads,” the USR leader also wrote.
US President Donald Trump’s Republicans have lost control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, according to US television projections. Americans went to the polls on Tuesday in the midterm elections, a crucial ballot for the final two years of Donald Trump’s presidency.
