On the website of the Romanian Police, under the heading “Missing children”, there are dozens of names of minors who, at some point, left and have not returned even today to the bosom of the family.

The last of them is Mahmood Aryan, a two-year-old boy from Botoşani county, Tudora commune. He left home on Sunday, March 17, 2023, and his disappearance set hundreds of people on fire, who tried to track him down. On Monday, March 18, 2024, the little boy was found, after 25 hours of searching, in a forest.
Similar case 20 years ago
20 years ago, Burcsa Csaba, a two-year-old boy from Târgu Mureș, left home and never returned. The last time, he was seen in the town of Mohu, Sibiu county, when he left the yard of a house. Since then, his parents and relatives know absolutely nothing about him, even though the authorities have been looking for him for a long time.
Thus, over the years, the child only exists in the files of the Romanian Police.
“On 16.04.2004, the minor left the yard of the building, in an unknown direction, and was never found. Notably: 0.50m tall, 20kg weight, fair complexion, round face, blue eyes and blonde hair. Clothing items: Not known“, it is specified on the website of the Romanian Police.
How many children disappear annually in Romania
A report on the disappearance of children in Romania shows that every year, on average, it is about 3,000 minors.
Of these, 97% of them are found, most of them in the first three weeks. The remaining 3% are children about whom, in most cases, nothing was ever found out.
The families of the missing see how year after year goes by without knowing what their child is doing. Years passed without their parents seeing their smile, without soothing their pain or without being able to give them a gift. For years, they no longer exist except in the Police files, at “Urmăriți General”.
