The leader of PNL Bucharest, the Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja, declared on Tuesday, after the governing coalition nominated the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu as a candidate for the General City Hall of the Capital, that he will continue to fight for his dream “Bucharest of the Future, in the Romania of the Future”, guaranteeing that will team up with everyone who shares the same vision. “Romania is at the end of the transition and facing a new stage. As well as Bucharest. We have overcome decades of standing alone against all, and today we must rise higher than we have ever been. Let's be the real change that a whole country is waiting for. Change is a new politics: for citizens, not for politicians. For too long, Bucharest has been a battleground between names of the past. Too many times, the change was only in form, and the Romanians chose the lesser evil. Change now seems possible. It must be based on a common vision, assumed projects and an involved majority”, wrote Sebastian Burduja on his Facebook page.
The leader of PNL Bucharest stated that a new generation of leaders is needed, of “opeople who believe in democracy”.
“This year's decisions—for stability and against toxic extremism—are important. But they will produce results only if we carry them through to the end and if they become the expression of a reset, in which a new generation of leaders undertakes to tell unspoken truths, make delayed reforms and deliver results for Romanians. There are funds available, not just for concrete, but also for vision, innovation and competitiveness. There are exceptional ideas and proven expertise. A new generation of leaders is needed — well-trained people who can think and act. People who believe in democracy, assume our national identity, in a European context, and are able to unite us”, said Burduja.
Sebastian Burduja stated that he will continue to fight for the future of the Capital and that he will collaborate with those who share the same vision, citing a statement by the great politician Ion IC Brătianu.
“I will continue to fight for a dream: Bucharest of the Future, in Romania of the Future, the country where we want to stay. As I have always done, I make available my development expertise from my years at the World Bank, Stanford and Harvard, my experience as Minister of Digitalization and Energy, my work power and the confidence that we will do the right thing, what the Romanians expect from U.S. And the guarantee that I will team up with everyone who shares this dream.
The words of the great liberal Ion IC Brătianu say it all: “In the big issues, in those of a moral order, which control the future of a nation, there cannot be bargaining prices, there cannot be reasons of opportunity, which make you decide to compromise, lowering you from the high and safe realm of principles.” The plan for Bucharest is moving forward, mirroring the Plan for Romania. Forward, together”, concluded the PNL Bucharest leader.
The Secretary General of the PSD, Paul Stănescu, declared on Tuesday that Sebastian Burduja will coordinate, together with Gabriela Firea, the electoral campaign in the Capital, being of the opinion that the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu has the first chance in the elections of June 9.
In fact, Sebastian Burduja participated on Tuesday, together with Gabriela Firea, in a meeting with the leaders of the organizations in Bucharest, to which the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu was also brought, where, according to “Adevărul” information, the presidents of PNL and PSD, Nicolae Ciucă and Marcel Ciolacu, explained the decision to appoint an independent for the Capital City Hall.
