In modern-day Britain, a group of physicists called “The Oxford Five” tries to understand why scientific experiments around the world fail. They get help from a maverick detective, Da Shi, played by Benedict Wong, who is part of a secret spy agency.

The series, which has eight episodes, also stars Eiza Gonzalez, Jovan Adepo, Jess Hong and Jonathan Pryce, and Brad Pitt, Rosamund Pike and Rian Johnson are among the executive producers.

“It's a story that includes science and fiction, but it's not about who knows what aliens, from who knows what planet, landing dressed in costumes. It is primarily about a real threat that humanity faces and how we all face this challenge'' Pryce said.
