The national metaranking (ranking) is based on the analysis of international rankings of higher education institutions, recognized by “IREG (International Ranking Expert Group), Inventory of International Rankings“, in which the Romanian higher education institutions are present, according to the project.
According to the project, in the process of selecting the international rankings of higher education institutions, the degree of accessibility for various types of institutions, the applied criteria and the final evaluation, reflected by a global score of the institution, will be taken into account.
Thus, the following principles will be used in the selection of the international rankings:
- the ranking is based predominantly on relevant/relevant academic/academic criteria/indicators;
- all selected rankings have the same weight in the national metaranking;
- those rankings will be selected that offer a global evaluation of higher education institutions, not only on certain areas of specialization;
- rankings that are restrictive for at least 50% of Romanian higher education institutions will be avoided;
- compliance with the selection procedure is externally audited and, as the case may be, the validity of the results is verified through complementary analyzes and/or reference to other available data.
“Rankings used in metaranking are determined annual, with the consultation of the National Council of Rectors, and the newly proposed ones will be piloted for at least one year, before being considered for metaranking“, the project states.
