“It's official: the two parties formed an electoral alliance. We made an electoral alliance just as we built a governing coalition. I didn't do it for the Social Democratic Party either, I didn't do it for the National Liberal Party either. Together we managed to overcome all the internal discussions and to show within the parties, but above all to show the Romanians that we have the political maturity to make a decision, not for us, a decision for stability, a decision for development at a time in that Romania cannot afford to lose any investment, any European money and any coherence, when we are talking about full accession to the Schengen and terrestrial space, when we are talking about the elimination of visas for the United States and, last but not least, when we are talking about joining the OECD “, said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
The prime minister also reiterated the fact that following the June 9 vote, political decisions will be made regarding a possible expansion of the alliance for the next elections as well.
“From my point of view, both I and Mr. President Nicolae Ciucă have done what is right for Romania and for the Romanians and we have shown political maturity and I believe that we have passed the moment in which Romania must live, especially in during the electoral campaigns, in the circus, scandal and always to use and push the Romanians to vote against”Ciolacu also claimed.
Former Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă emphasized that the list “it includes a part of the MEPs who have experience and who carried out their activity in the Parliament of the European Union”.
“There are also new people. Practically, it is a team that we assumed together, so that we can carry out our commitment to continue with the same responsibility to ensure the stability of the government and the development of Romania”Ciucă also affirmed, showing that “this team has the mission to go to Brussels not for a party, not for the National Liberal Party, not for the Social Democratic Party, it has the mission to Brussels for Romania, for the citizens of Romania, to do what they can so that we continue this development process with European funds”.
