The enrollment period in class zero for the year 2024-2025 is between April 11 and May 14, the Ministry of Education announces, and to support parents who are going to send their children to school, a Telverde will be made available at the level of each school inspectorate .

My colleagues have collected the most frequent questions and answers related to school enrollment in 2024. During the enrollment period, a Telverde number will be available at the level of each school inspectorate, where parents will be able to call to receive the information they need to enroll their children . The Telverde telephone number and the operating schedule will be communicated in good time by each school inspectorate“, Ligia Deca wrote on Facebook.

Children who turn 6 years old by August 31, 2024, inclusive, can be enrolled in class zero. Those who turn 6 years old between September 1 and December 31, 2024 can enter the preparatory class based on the recommendation for enrollment in primary education (issued by the educational units with preschool level or based on the evaluation of the County Center for Educational Resources and Assistance/Bucharest City Center of Resources and Educational Assistance – CJRAE/CMBRAE, as the case may be).

In addition, the CJRAE/CMBRAE assessment must also be carried out for children who have not attended kindergarten or for those who have lived outside the country.

When and where children are assessed

The evaluation of the children is planned to take place between March 28 and April 10, 2024. This evaluation takes place both at the CJRAE/CMBRAE headquarters and in various centers in the county, informs the Ministry of Education.

In the case of children who have attended kindergarten, the following are required:

– registration of requests sent/submitted to educational units with preschool level to obtain the recommendation for enrollment in the preparatory class;

– the issuance/transmission to the parent by the preschool educational unit of the enrollment recommendation in the preparatory class or in the large group, as the case may be.

And in the case of those who did not go to kindergarten or returned from abroad, they must bring the following documents:

– registration by the CJRAE/CMBRAE of the evaluation requests submitted/sent by the parents;

– planning by CJRAE/CMBRAE of the organization of the evaluation + display and communication of the schedule for participation in the evaluation;

– carrying out the assessment of children by CJRAE/CMBRAE;

– issuing/transmitting to the parent by the CJRAE/CMBRAE the recommendation for enrollment in the preparatory class or in the large group, as the case may be;

– resolving exceptional situations that require the postponement of enrollment in primary education.

In which school can a child be enrolled?

Parents can choose to enroll their children either at the constituency school – in this situation, the child is automatically enrolled based on the validation of the enrollment request – or they can opt for an educational unit other than the constituency school. In the second situation, the child is enrolled within the limit of free places and, if necessary, based on the general criteria and, subsequently, on the specific tie-breaking criteria.

In addition, parents can make sure that the little ones will have a place in class zero, they can request, by ticking the registration-type request, that the place at the constituency school be reserved in the event that the child is not enrolled at the unit education for which the parent made the option, due to a lack of free places.

Where to submit the application for registration

Parents will submit the application to the educational institution where they want to enroll the child. There is also the option to fill in the form-applications online, on the dedicated website, inside the enrollment calendar, but after completing them, parents must go to the educational unit for which they want to enroll the child in order to validate the application. On the model application, parents can express three options for the educational units.

When we find out where the child was enrolled

The results of the first stage of registration will be displayed on May 29, in the educational units and on the websites of the school inspectorates, as well as the number of places left vacant

For the second stage of registration, the results will be displayed on June 21 in each educational unit. These will represent the final lists of children enrolled in the preparatory class.

Tie-off criteria

When there are fewer places than the number of children applying for a school, general and specific tie-breaking criteria will be applied, such as the existence of a medical certificate classifying the child as handicapped; the existence of a document proving that he is an orphan of both parents; the existence of a document proving that he is an orphan of only one parent; the existence of a brother/sister enrolled in the respective educational unit.
