More and more tourists are choosing to book online, with the Easter holiday already seeing a major increase compared to the same period last year, according to a well-known travel agency.
Online bookings for the Easter holiday are up 50% on last year
In this context, for the Easter holidays, Romanian tourists chose to book their holiday online, spending a budget for an exotic destination of approx. 2300 euros/person/package, and in the case of European destinations, the average price is around worth 1000 euros/ person/ package.
“We notice that more and more tourists choose online bookings, and the Easter holiday is the peak so far. If we look at the data, compared to last year, at this moment we are approaching a 50% increase, which comes on the back of a generous offer that includes more destinations available in the two platforms, of lower prices compared to a reservation made in the classic way, but also thanks to the multiple travel options, completely dynamic, available to the customer. It is interesting that the Easter requests started to appear already during the Christmas and New Year holidays, which confirms to us that Romanians are returning to a much better planned purchasing behavior,” declares Ana Maria Gherasim, Sales Director of the Eturia travel agency
For the period of the Easter Holidays, over 50 holiday packages with departures on 6 Continents are available. From short-haul holidays in Europe such as Paris, Nice, Seville, Palma de Mallorca or Madeira, to Emirates such as Dubai and Ras la Khaimah or Thailand, Mexico, Cuba, Seychelles, Mauritius, Peru, Costa Rica, Australia , Jamaica or Indonesia. There are packages that start from 890 euros/person such as those for a stay in Europe and can reach almost 5000 euros/person for group tours with a companion, in an exotic stay. What is very important to specify is the fact that there are dozens of packages, including for exotic destinations, where the rate does not exceed 2000 euros/person.
“We expect better numbers in the area of online reservations, supported by the increase in the quality of the customer experience in the two platforms, the much more accessible offer and the thousands of dynamic packages from which the customer can choose. This mix, through which they have access to complete travel packages, is the perfect booking option for online adopters or do-it-yourself tourists, but who have high quality standards and want to have the security offered by an agency tourism“, declares Ana Maria Gerasim.
If a list were made of the preferences of Romanians in terms of holiday destinations during the Easter period, Madeira is at the top of the European destinations, followed by France, Spain and Iceland. There is also an increased interest in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, but also in the smaller islands in this area such as: Aruba, Curacao, Bahamas. For the Indian Ocean, demand is polarized on destinations such as Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, Indonesia. Romanians fondly choose Thailand and Malaysia, with a stop in Singapore, but they also turn their attention to the United States of America.
And for this period, the agency continues to promote charter flights to Portugal, respectively the island of Madeira. Thus, by purchasing a charter package, tourists can avoid spending a whole day on the plane and in the airports. Charters to Portugal start from €1390 and for some packages combine mainland Portugal with Madeira or Madeira with the Azores.
