10 months ago, when I took over the portfolio of minister of development, public works and administration, I found a ministry that was running projects worth billions of lei for the development of local communities throughout the country. Talking with the decision-makers in the ministry, we came to the conclusion that, in order to achieve our ambitious goals, we need to streamline our activity, optimize our work flows, take on new tasks and focus on new projects“, the Minister of Development wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.

Adrian Veştea specifies, regarding the Government decision regarding the reorganization and operation of the MDLPA, approved in Thursday's meeting, that it provides: “the reduction of public dignity positions by 25%, the abolition of vacant positions and the positions of head of office, as well as the reduction of the total number of public management positions“.

The Minister mentions that from the moment the Government's decision will be published in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration will operate with 701 civil servants, with 5 state secretaries and 3 state undersecretaries. “I am convinced that, through a flexible and streamlined structure, we will reach our set targets“, added Adrian Veştea.
