The former head of ATI from the Pantelimon Hospital: “What is my fault that people are dying, worse than in the pandemic?”

The former head of ATI at the Pantelimon Hospital says that the scandal has nothing to do with her.

“During the 10th day, the manager came to the ATI department, he had a derogatory speech. I claim that all records are made by me and people are put on by me. I do not have access to medical documents (…). They have some problems, they think I'm following them. But there are recordings made by other people“, said Elena Voicu at Realitatea Plus.

“What's the morgue doing behind the hospital?”

Elena Voicu said she had nothing to do with the tragedies that happened in the hospital and testified to the quoted source that, three weeks ago, the mobile morgue was behind the hospital, and several patients remained intubated for a longer period of time , because there was no staff to take care of them.

“I didn't even have guards during that time on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday? What does mortality have to do with my bossiness? That they are dying on their heads, worse than in the pandemic? What is the morgue doing behind the hospital? Why is the mortality higher now with 10 doctors and was lower when there were 4 doctors in therapy?“.

We remind you that at the Saint Pantelimon hospital, several investigations are underway regarding the suspicious death of 17 Intensive Care patients

The former ATI head of St. Pantelimon Hospital sent a letter to the Minister of Health in which “reports all kinds of problems”, it considers that it is prevented from exercising its “the right to occupy the position of Head of Section“. Alexandru Rafila does not consider this to be the case, and the Control Body will check these issues.

We have to send a very clear message, we are talking about two things: an important medical institution in Bucharest, an emergency hospital, on the one hand, and a highly qualified medical corps. It is good to clarify things so that there are no traces of doubt regarding the way these units operate and the way medical services are provided“, said Alexandru Rafila.

“There are certain weeks when nationally there are more deaths”

The source of the information about these deaths was a nurse, the minister said. A death statistic will be conducted at several emergency hospitals to compare the number of deaths.

We will do a statistic to see if there were any there or at other hospitals accumulation of deaths for shorter periods of time. (…) I can tell you that there are certain weeks when, at the national level, a higher number of deaths is recorded. We will see what happens at this hospital compared to other Emergency hospitals.“, adds the Minister of Health.
