“What does it mean that Jesus the Risen from the dead is permanently present in His Church? Before ascending to heaven, the Risen Lord Jesus sends his disciples on a mission to all nations, to preach repentance and salvation to all people who believe in him. And then he entrusts the disciples <>, that is, he will be permanently present with his disciples. Although raised in glory to the heavens, the Lord Jesus Christ the Crucified and Resurrected is, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, always present in His Church, through the Holy Gospel, through the Holy Mysteries and through His Saints, who are bearers of the grace given to them by Christ; they are Christophores or Theophores, bearers of Christ, or bearers of God“, said PF Daniel, at the service officiated together with the patriarchal vicar bishops Varlaam Ploieşteanul and Paisie Sinaitul and with the vicar bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, Timotei Prahoveanul.

“Fountain of holy peace, of unspeakable and glorified joy”

The Patriarch showed that, in particular, the Crucified and Resurrected Christ is present in His Church through the Holy Eucharist, which is given to Christians for the forgiveness of sins and for eternal life.

“And through the eucharistic greeting <> the presence of the Risen Christ in the midst of the right-believing people is testified more intensely. This glorious presence of Christ in His Church is a source of holy peace, of unspeakable and glorified joy, as the Holy Apostle Peter tells us, as a foretaste of the peace and joy of the Kingdom of Heaven. We pray that Christ the Lord will help us to feel the presence of his humble and merciful love in all our lives. May Holy Easter bring the holy peace and the glorified joy of Christ to all of you in your soul and in your homes. Christ is Risen!”, concluded Patriarch Daniel.

The next time Easter will be celebrated on the same day by all Christians

Orthodox and Greek-Catholic believers celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord, the greatest celebration of Christians, on Sunday.

Easter derives its name from the Hebrew word “Pesach” of the ancient Jews, which means “pass”.

Initially, the word designated the passage or bringing of the world by God from non-being into being, and then the passage of the Israeli people from Egyptian slavery to full freedom, saved from death through the blood of the paschal lamb.

Since then, the paschal lamb has foreshadowed the sacrifice and sacrifice on the cross of the Savior Jesus Christ, but the Easter holiday continued to represent, for each individual and for all of humanity, a transition, both from death to life, and from to the slavery of sins to the state of freedom of the sons of God.

Two years in a row, in 2010 and 2011, but also in 2014 and 2017, Easter was celebrated on the same day by all Christians – Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Evangelical and Reformed, by the neo-Protestant cults.

The next year when the Resurrection of the Lord will be celebrated together will be 2025 – on April 20.
