“I saw that they moved quite quickly, they called us to the hearing and informed us that they had started the criminal investigation (…). We hope that it will be clarified as soon as possible, because we are in an election campaign and we need to know who supported Nicuşor Dan with money for that aggressive advertising campaign. Let's see what real connections Nicuşor Dan has with Matei Păun and the companies that have connections in Russia. That's what the prosecutors will find out. We publicly asked Nicusor Dan to come out and explain to the citizens, but he refused and continues to refuse“, stated Enache, according to Agerpres.

The AUR candidate accused the mayor of aggressive advertising.

“We came to make statements following the complaint we filed two weeks ago, regarding Nicuşor Dan's pre-election campaign regarding the funding sources he had available, that aggressive advertising through which Nicusor Dan was thanking us on hundreds of billboards scattered in the center of Bucharest, he was thanking us for I don't know what, that we didn't understand. He was thanking us for the fact that we probably supported him in the mayor's seat for four years, even though he had no achievements in this term”. Enache stated.

Sebastian Burduja, PNL candidate for the Capital City Hall, asked the current mayor in a press conference to present the list of donors for his electoral campaign.

According to a recently published Newsweek investigation, the general mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, who is running for a new mandate, advertises himself on the street in Bucharest on the billboards of a company controlled by a pro-Russian businessman, and the value of the contract would be much higher of what the mayor publicly declares.

Later, the head of Nicușor Dan's campaign, Ema Prisca, was caught by the paparazzi with Matei Păun.
