Antonia, one of the most popular artists in Romania, scared her fans after appearing in a hospital bed. The star revealed that she is going through a serious medical problem, caused by a cosmetic procedure done eight years ago.
The singer explained that eight years ago she opted for Aqua Filling, a substance used by many women to correct their shapes. Although she had no problems for years, in June of this year Antonia began to develop a serious infection, which took her to the operating room three times.
Alex Velea’s partner said that, since the summer of this year, she faced one of the hardest periods in her life.

“LIFE UPDATE: I thought a lot before I wrote this message…whether or not to post something like this, because I’m a pretty private person. But I feel the need to tell you that this year has been extremely difficult for me health wise.
I went through a traumatic and dangerous experience that honestly could have had a tragic ending… It all started in June, and since then there have been months full of trials, procedures (3 surgeries to be exact) and moments that put me face to face with my limits.
During this time I learned a very important lesson (not that I didn’t know it before, but sometimes life hits you to really understand it). I learned to love my body as it is, and that if I want to improve my body, I choose to do it naturally, with patience and respect, as I was taught! To stop looking for shortcuts, to stop being lazy because sometimes, the obsession to be «perfect» (each with their own definition) can push you to make decisions that aren’t worth the cost to your health!”the artist said.
11 days in the hospital and a hard lesson
Antonia went to the doctors and was hospitalized for 11 days, during which her health was carefully monitored. Only now has he returned home, where he continues his recovery.
“The irony is that I didn’t even make a big change to get into these complications…and yet I woke up in the middle of a medical nightmare. Any intervention no matter how small you think, no matter how «unimportant» you think it can become a real danger to your health.
We live in a world where social media can make you forget who you are, make you think you’re not enough or that you need more… But health really is everything! Without her… nothing matters!
I am so happy that after 11 days in the hospital today I’m finally back home and I’m looking forward to healing and this year being over and 2026 being about new music and more happiness. I promise!”
“Stupid girl, stupid decisions!”
Antonia also clarified what caused the problems: an aesthetic procedure done eight years ago.
“To be very clear, I had Aquafilling injected into my buttocks 8 years ago to give me a bigger butt and I only got an infection this year! Stupid girl, stupid decisions!“, concluded the artist.
