October is the month of awareness of breast cancer, the most common oncological diagnosis in the world. Mammography can diagnose up to 85% of cases, especially in the early stage. This investigation is recommended to all ladies over 40, usually every two years.
Mammography costs or is done for free?
Mamographs can be performed for free, with reference from the family doctor, even to private clinics.
“We had several discussions, both with the National House of Health Insurance and with the representatives of the Family Doctors Society, everyone assured us that the flow is a suitable one. The first step is for the lady to go to the family medical, family medical doctor.”says Alin Bujan, the executive director of the Federation of the Association of Cancer Patients (FAB).
The patient organization will also launch an application whereby women can find out where they can be scheduled for such an investigation.
“On October 22, we will launch an application through which we identify in real time what are the centers/hospitals/clinics that are in relation to CNAS and that can perform free mammograms. There are non -covered counties and there are counties where there are devices that can be performed and that can be free.”says Alin Bujan.

Even though data show that over 50% of breast cancer cases occur in women between 45 and 69, this does not mean that there are no younger patients to trigger the condition. This is why gynecologists recommend to all young people over 20 years of age. This routine should be done once a month, after menstruation and can be saving. The National Day of Breast Cancer, including the Cotroceni Palace was illuminated in pink. Mirabela Grădinaru, the partner of President Nicușor Dan, sent a message for all the women who fought or fight with this diagnosis.
