“The visit to Spain started today with a meeting with the counterpart Pedro Rollan Ojeda, with whom I discussed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the bilateral relationship between our countries. Together, we can identify common solutions to the problems of the two societies, improving political, commercial and cultural relations.

I was impressed by the warm, special words with which the president of the Spanish Senate speaks about the Romanians settled here. The Romanian community in Spain has extensive work experience, is a highly qualified resource and has a Western mentality. As a result of the steps I initiated as prime minister, Romanians in Spain can have dual citizenship, starting this year. The Iberian state has such agreements in Europe only with its neighbors, Portugal and France”, wrote Nicolae Ciucă on his Facebook page.

The President of the Romanian Senate, Nicolae Ciucă, stated that he discussed with the presidents of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committees about the opportunities for collaboration in the defense industry sector.

In the meeting I had later with the chairmen of the Parliamentary Committees on Defense and Foreign Affairs, we discussed the opportunities for collaboration between our countries in the field of the defense industry. I know the potential in the manufacture of armaments and ammunition, armored vehicles and explosive material. And I think we now have the opportunity to initiate solid collaborations in research and development between Romania and Spain“, Ciucă also said.
