The President of the Romanian Senate and the head of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, sent a message of support for Ukraine on Saturday, two years after the beginning of the Russian Federation's war against the neighboring country. The official noted that more than 7 million Ukrainian refugees have entered Romania since the beginning of the invasion.

“Two years ago, Ukraine faced a full-scale unprovoked war. Since then, the people of Ukraine, with determination and courage, relentlessly defended their homes, freedom and future. Romania and the entire free world stand by Ukraine, a nation fighting for life and democracy. Glory of Ukraine” (Glory of Ukraine no.“, wrote Nicolae Ciucă on X.
The leader of the Liberals also stated that “unjustified Russian aggression” represents an attack on the “fundamental values” of a state.
“Two years ago, the entire free world was shaken by the news that the boundaries of peace and democracy had been breached by the start of a war in Eastern Europe. Ukraine was waking up under the onslaught of unjustified aggression, an attack on the values we consider fundamental: freedom, sovereignty, the right of every people to choose their own destiny. The Ukrainian people, with tremendous determination, resilience and courage, defended their home, freedom and future”wrote Nicolae Ciucă on his Facebook page.
Ciucă emphasized in his message that more than 7 million Ukrainian refugees have entered Romania since the beginning of the war.
In the face of this tragedy, Romania opened its doors and hearts. More than 7 million Ukrainian refugees entered our country in the last two years, and tens of thousands still live in Romania. In this struggle with absurdity and cruelty, Ukraine is not alone. The entire free world supports a nation fighting for life, liberty and democratic values“, concluded Nicolae Ciucă.
