Cultural royal for theater lovers. The Program of the National Theater Festival

The National Theater Festival, the biggest event of this kind to the dramatic art lovers in Romania, will take place in Bucharest, between 17 and 26 of October. During this period, the spectators will be able to see the most appreciated shows in the 2024-2025 season. They will also be able to participate in a marathon of book launches. The edition with the number 35 A “The National Theater Festival” has an exhortation: “Look at you!”.

How this year’s shows were chosen

The shows included on the agenda of the festival were chosen after watching and analyzing over 200 pieces from all over the country, which premiered in the theater season 2024-2025, shows on the website fnt.ro.

Those who chose are part of the curatorial team of the festival, consisting of Raluca Cîrciumaru (theater critic), Alina Epîngeac (theater critic) and Ionuț Sociu (playwright and cultural journalist). They were also joined by an associated artist, director Radu Afrim.

Dramaturgy lovers will be able to watch the selected shows between 17 and 26 October. Tickets can be found on all the sales platforms of each host theater, as well as at their ticket homes. Many of the shows are already sold out.

The festival is produced by UNITER – the theater union in Romania.
