In a message published on Facebook, on the occasion of starting the nursery, kindergarten and other complementary early education services, the minister warned: “Not only do we waste their good potential for intelligence and creativity, but we reduce the chances of a better life.”.
The official argues that the problem is not only limited to the functional illiteracy present among the students in the current system, but also to the fact that many children are not registered at all or drop out of school, although education is mandatory.
Daniel David also refers to the conclusions of the QX report on education and research in Romania, stressing that unequal access to education is a major problem that must be corrected urgently.
“In the coming world, education will make more and more the difference between those who will be successful and those who will be losing”, the minister warned.
In the context of starting registrations at the preschool level, the minister has launched an appeal to parents, local authorities and teachers to mobilize to ensure the access of all eligible children to the basic education.
Also, Daniel David recognizes that there are still infrastructure problems, especially in terms of nurseries, but believes that education must become a national priority, both in investments and in the mentality.
“Let us build together, simultaneously, the infrastructure and mentality that education is the best way to social success and well -being”, the Minister of Education said at the end.
