“You can do this by collaborating with local authorities, especially those of public order, so that the environment around the schools is clean, without dealers, drug use or other forms of addiction, gambling and so on.

And also outside of school, it matters a lot what the family does, what the parents do. That is, you have to work with families, because what the family does has a fundamental role in preventing drug use. After that, of course, we move within the school. There are several activities that must be coordinated with each other“, said the Minister of Education, Daniel David, at Medika Antidrog, according to News.ro.

According to him, in schools it is essential how the other students behave, what the teachers do or what the administrative staff does. Daniel David explained that another level in schools refers to actual treatment, when you already have consumers.

“Here we can talk mainly about treatments related to psychotherapeutic interventions, and I am referring primarily to protocols that should be scientifically validated and to treatments outside of school, where psychotherapeutic treatments can be combined with medical treatments. Liaison with the Ministry of the Interior to have more police officers, for example, around school units, especially where we know there are risks”, stated the Minister of Education.

Asked about the existence of police teams around schools where there are known to be problems, Minister Daniel David said that there are “an extraordinary mobilization to help us control drug use and violence, but also drug use in the school and especially around the school”.

“We have a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior that I would call very good”added the Minister of Education, Daniel David.
