Double victory for women’s tennis: Gabriela Ruse and Anca Todoni qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon

In addition to Sorana Cîrstea, Ana Bogdan, Jaqueline Cristian and Irina Begu, who directly entered the women’s main draw, two other Romanian tennis players qualified for the third Grand Slam of the year.

Thursday, double victory for Romanian women’s tennis. Gabriela Ruse and Anca Todoni managed to qualify for the main singles draw of the Wimbledon grass tournament. The two Romanians each secured 60,000 pounds and 50 WTA points.

The first direct meeting between Gabriela Ruse and Lea Boskovic in the women’s world circuit was in favor of the Romanian. Gabriela Ruse, ranked 152 WTA, achieved a beautiful victory, in just two sets, against the athlete from Croatia, ranked 199 WTA.

After an hour and 7 minutes of play, the 26-year-old Romanian qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, with a score of 6-2, 6-2.

For the Russian, this will be the fourth time she is present on the main draw at Wimbledon, without ever getting past the first round.

In the other match, the young Anca Todoni, only 19 years old, faced the more experienced Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (32 years old), in a match that lasted one hour and 15 minutes. After winning two sets against the athlete from Spain, 6-2, 6-4, Anca Todoni climbed to the 166th WTA place and qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon.
