Dragoș Dolănescu’s great wish: “It would be nice if my daughter and Ionuț’s daughter became friends. They don’t speak to each other”

The daughters of Ionuț and Dragoș Dolănescu, the granddaughters of the late Ion Dolănescu, inherited the talent of the late popular music performer and could sing together, but they don’t even know each other.

Dragoș Dolănescu (49 years old), deputy in Costa Rica, expressed his desire, through Click!, for the two cousins ​​to meet and, someday, sing together.

His beautiful daughter, Maria de Jesus, aged 26, a lawyer by profession, inherited from the family the love for music, for the stage, just like Ionuț Dolănescu’s daughter, Ioana-Maria, aged 15, violin olympic, which is now a huge success on stage.

“I’m very sorry that the cousins, that is, Ionuț’s three children and my three, cannot meet, to get to know each other, to spend the holidays together, it would have been nice.
I would like my girl and Ionuț’s daughter, especially since they have vocal talent, they have this common passion, to become friends. They don’t talk to each other, they don’t know each other. Maybe, one day…Dad, I think he is proud of his granddaughters, from there in Heaven, where I feel he is watching over us”, of Russian, recently, for Click!, Dragoș Dolănescu.

In August 2024, Dragoș Dolănescu returned to Romania for a short period of time, because he had to renew his passport and identity card.

After six years of not setting foot in his native country, he went to the grave of his father, Ion Dolănescu, who passed away in March 2009, and brought him flowers.

I was no longer in Romania, because of the pandemic, then, being a deputy in Costa Rica, I stayed there to help poor people, until my mandate ended. I was in Romania for a few days and because my passport and ID card expired, I had to renew them urgently, thank you very much to those who helped me.

But I was most happy to reach my father’s grave, in the Bellu Cemetery. Dad has a cave there, worth over 10,000 euros, made of the most expensive marble. I went to the cemetery almost every day, I missed him, I pulled myself together, I brought him flowers“, declared Dragoș Dolănescu.

“We were deported and could not return to Venezuela”

He criticized Nicolás Maduro’s regime, which he described as a danger to democratic stability in the region, and warned that Venezuelan influence was expanding into countries such as Nicaragua and Cuba.

In a Facebook post from October, Dragoș Dolănescu, a supporter of the Venezuelan oppositionist María Corina Machado, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, wrote:

“A few hours before I was deported by the Venezuelan regime, I managed to meet Maria Corina after thousands of vicissitudes that morning. (…) After the speech at the Venezuelan Federal Palace, I think Maduro and company did not like it. Immediately, together with the Spanish PP deputies, and an Argentinian, we were deported and we could not return to Venezuela, until it is clear that we can return when this country is free!!!
