Oana Lasconi, daughter of Elena Lasconi, participated on Thursday evening in a protest organized in Bucharest in support of Venezuela, after the capture of President Nicolas Maduro by the American authorities. About 20 members and sympathizers of the Romanian Socialist Party (PSR), a political group that the young woman recently joined, were present at the demonstration.
The protest was publicly announced on Facebook by the PSR, a party that has harshly criticized the foreign policy of the United States. In the mobilization message, the organizers called on “citizens outraged by the actions of the United States of America, the workers and all conscious people” to participate in the demonstration against what they called “the imperialist aggression directed against Venezuela”.
At the protest, Oana Lasconi was caught carrying a placard with the message: “Trump, get off Venezuela.”

At the end of December, Elena Lasconi’s daughter attracted the attention of public opinion by the radical change of her political positioning. Aged 32, Oana Lasconi lived in Paris until recently, where she was involved in civic actions and publicly supported the rights of the LGBTQ community. Later, she openly expressed her sympathy for the communist ideology, participating in France in demonstrations organized by groups nostalgic for the former Soviet Union.
After returning to Romania, Oana Lasconi announced her affiliation with the Romanian Socialist Party, publishing on social networks the photo of her membership card. The PSR declares itself to be the continuation of the Romanian Communist Party, it is led by Constantin Rotaru, and the party logo reproduces the former coat of arms of the PCR.

In recent months, Oana Lasconi has also published messages with radical positions on international politics. In a clip shared on social media, she commented on the conflict in Gaza, expressing controversial views on the Hamas group and the situation in the region. His statements generated strong reactions in the public space.
To date, Elena Lasconi has not publicly commented on her daughter’s political positions or actions.
