Former Dynamo player Gheorghe Iamandi died at the age of 66

The former footballer, Gheorghe Iamandi, died on Tuesday, at the age of 66, the Dinamo Bucharest club announced on a social media site.

“The former Dynamo striker left us today, February 6, 2024, two months before his 67th birthday. Rest in peace, Gheorghe Iamandi“, it says on the official Facebook page of the white-red group.

Gheorghe Iamandi started his career in 1978, at FC Delta Tulcea, where he played in 40 matches and scored 34 goals. He joined the Dinamo club in the 1983-1984 season, he was also used in the return match against Liverpool, in the semifinals of the European Champions Cup, when he entered the field in the 77th minute. In the Dinamo team shirt, Iamandi scored five goals in 19 games in which he played.

He ended his playing career where he started it, at FC Delta Tulcea, in 1989, which is also the only team he coached, between 2011-2013.
