Several truck drivers carrying food were stopped in the middle of protest rallies in France and had their goods unloaded by French farmers.

Among those stopped was a family from Vâlcea county, which was left without 10 tons of chicken meat, Romanian products that were going for export.

“Protesters came to us, they blocked the street. They asked for our documents on the cargo, looked behind, opened the doors without permission, broke the seal. When I got to about 4-5 km from the next roundabout, there was a line of trucks. An SUV came to us with two boys in it. They took us out of the column, told us to follow them. A lot of tractors, there were two gendarmerie cars there, they had set fire to the pallets that had unloaded them before us, because there were packages of broth, of frozen vegetables down there”according to the victim from Vâlcea, writes digi24.ro.

Ten tons of chicken meat were destroyed by the protesters, right in front of the police and gendarmes.

Another Romanian truck driver, Viorel Doroftei, has been sitting for three days next to the goods that the French farmers set fire to, on a road between Bordeaux and Toulouse. He says he will go to the police to file a complaint.

“It was total vandalism, vandalism on their part. They stopped the truck, put their tractor in front, blocked me, so this means theft and vandalism”, said Viorel Doroftei for observatornews.ro.
