Gaudeamus Book Fair 2025 has started: free access to over 600 events for readers

The Gaudeamus Book Fair has started, which will keep its doors open until December 7, in Pavilion B2 Romexpo.

The fair will be open daily between 10.00 and 20.00, and public access will be free. The honorary president of the edition will be Sabina Fati, journalist, writer and foreign policy analyst. 180 participants signed up this year, including renowned publishing houses, Romanian and foreign book distribution agencies, university publishing houses and higher education institutions, music distributors and a very rich and varied range of educational games.

For those who love reading, Gaudeamus 2025 is a real foray into the Romanian and international literary universe, with the chance to discover new titles, special editions, renowned authors and creative discussions. It’s a rare opportunity to buy books at bargain prices, with discounts and special offers, making reading more accessible. For young people and families, the space dedicated to children turns the fair into an experience of cultural and creative discovery. The fair remains, at the same time, an important social-cultural platform, which brings authors, readers, publishing houses and cultural institutions into dialogue.

More than 600 editorial events will take place both in the six spaces arranged in the premises and at the participants’ stands: book launches and presentations, editorial projects, debates, meetings with writers and autograph sessions; as in previous editions, one of the event spaces set up within the fair, named “Ion Creangă”, will be dedicated mainly to the youngest visitors.

All the participants prepared not only launches and autograph sessions, but also special events, debates, and also considerable discounts. The big publishers come with generous offers. For example, Humanitas and Polirom each bring over 1,000 titles, but also event books. Prestigious authors such as Gabriel Liiceanu, Matei Vișniec, Ioana Pârvulescu, Gabriela Adameșteanu or Radu Vancu will be present at the publishers’ stands, where they will launch their latest titles, have interesting discussions and autograph sessions. Among the most important titles, Humanitas Publishing has “History of the blind. Romania at war 1940-1945” by Alina Pavelescu, “Romania under communism. Paradox and degeneration” by Dennis Deletant or “Time of the predators” by Giuliano da Empoli.

The Nemira publishing house is releasing, among other things, one of the most anticipated titles of the year, the autobiography signed by Anthony Hopkins, “Let’s make it, kid”, and the Corint publishing house, as usual, comes with a wide range of historical books, including “Tales from the Spring Quarter” by Lavinia Betea. The Litera Publishing House comes with book launches, autograph sessions, debates and meetings with the most beloved authors of the moment: Cristina Bejan, Irina Georgescu, Alec Blenche, Ioana Bâldea Constantinescu or Igor Bergler.

You can find the complete program of the Gaudeamus Fair on gaudeamus.ro, but also on the websites and social media pages of the publishing houses.
