Only a few school inspectorates have also published partial information – this year’s high school admissions guide, the deadline being exceeded by more than a week. What prevented compliance with the term of May 4th was the transmission to the counties of the official schooling figures, approved by decision. Based on them, the educational offer becomes official and the admission codes used by students and parents when filling out the option sheets can be generated.

Several actions in the High School Admissions Calendar are delayed

We have absolutely everything ready, the drafts are ready, we are just waiting to be able to generate the admission codes in the SIIR application dedicated to Admission when we receive the approved tuition plan figures from the ministry”stated the head of a county school inspectorate, for “Adevărul”.

According to “of the high school admissions calendar for the 2026-2027 school year”, On May 4, the tuition offer/professional training offer, concretized in profiles, fields and professional qualifications, for high school education, the technological sector, should have been displayed.

On the same date, the establishment of the codes for each high school education unit was also scheduled – by streams, profiles, specializations/fields of training, language of instruction. Also on May 4, the admission brochure had to be posted on the website of each county school inspectorate.

The brochures should also have reached the schools in physical form, during the period May 4-8so that they can be distributed to the parents of 8th grade students.

In May 12, according to the calendar, training sessions with parents and students should have started to present the admission procedures and the schooling plan. The period of organization of these meetings is May 12 – June 12.

Taking aptitude tests for admission to vocational high schools

Other actions on the calendar instead ran their course. Secondary schools released, on May 11-12, 2026, the annexes to the registration forms for students or graduates who wish to participate in the aptitude tests organized for admission to vocational high schools. On Wednesday, May 13, the registration for taking these tests actually started, those who wish to have time to register until Friday, May 15, so that from Monday, May 18, until Friday, May 22, the students can take the tests on which admission to a vocational high school depends (sports high schools, arts high schools, pedagogical high schools, etc.).

Students who register and take these tests will find out on May 25 if they passed them successfully.

If they pass the aptitude tests and wish to continue the admission process to a vocational high school after passing the National Assessment (many students also take these tests as a safety net, wanting to secure a place at the vocational high school in the event that they have no real chance of admission to a certain theoretical high school), they will have to confirm their place in the vocational high school after the National Assessment. If they give up this place and apply for computerized allocation and at allocation they are not satisfied with the place they have been placed according to their options and admission average, they cannot come back to claim the vocational place in the next stages unless there are vacancies. Usually the remaining places at vocational high schools after the registration stage of those who have passed the tests are few or missing, on the places of candidates who were initially admitted and who give up by moving up to the next ranked ones.
