Journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu launched a series of harsh criticisms of the political scene and the B9 meeting organized in Bucharest, in a message published on social networks.
In a suggestively titled post “Tuțuiatu Summit”Cristian Tudor Popescu began by mocking President Nicușor Dan for the request addressed to the future Executive regarding the rapid drafting of the 2027 budget.
“Another disaster from President Dan: he tasked the new government to make the 2027 budget by September! The “new government” does not exist and is nowhere to be seen for now. The 2026 budget has dragged on until April…”wrote Cristian Tudor Popescu.
The journalist says that the achievement of such a goal depends on several external factors and the fulfillment of important conditions.
“I leave these aspects aside and ask you: how to do the budget when the calculation depends on the fulfillment of the long-delayed PNRR milestones by August 31 and the start of the SAFE national security program, so you know how much money you have?”he says.
Grindeanu “wants a prime minister”
In the same message, CTP also attacks PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu, whom he says that “they are shaking and they want the prime minister”.
“An interesting aspect of the creature who is shaking and wants to be prime minister, called Grindeanu: on his left wrist he wears at least 4 bracelets, that’s how many I counted when he raised his hand with a wave of a bayadera”the journalist wrote.
Cristian Tudor Popescu also criticizes PSD’s reactions after the announcement of the technical economic recession.
“This is the only comment on the anti-Bolojan masquerade after the predictable announcement of a technical economic recession by the INS. A, and the social-democratic motto: “PSD gave, either his name is blessed, Bolojan took, or his name is cursed!””he also transmitted.
“B9, the highest peak in the Măcin Mountains, Țuțuiatu”
The journalist also commented on the B9 meeting held in Bucharest, which he compares with “the highest peak in the Macin Mountains”.
“The pro PSDan press inflated the B9 “Summit” into ignorance, which turned out to be the highest peak in the Măcin Mountains, Țuțuatu, 467 meters. They kept announcing how Trump was invited, as if he had come. Then, they gave Rubio as a replacement. When he didn’t show up either, they presented the undersecretary Mr. “Everybody”, sent to have lunch in Bucharest, as a gray eminence of the Department of the State”he also wrote.
He believes that the Bucharest meeting was presented as much more important than it actually was.
“They triumphantly headlined: “In Bucharest, crucial decisions are being made for NATO security!”. The only “heavy” among those present, the president of Ukraine, the president of Poland, the president of Finland. The NATO Secretary General, Rutte, preferred beef on the menu. As a result, the agape showed that a meeting is dominated by the province, it remains to be seen whose province…”the journalist also stated.
He argues that the most important question that needed to be asked is whether Trump “will not lift a finger in defense of a Europe attacked by Russia”.
“On the contrary, then he will hit it harder than he does anyway, threatening the massive withdrawal of American troops from Germany. Therefore, wouldn’t it be good to understand that none of the countries present in Bucharest will receive these relocated troops unless NATO decides this, by consensus, isn’t that what Trump wants?”says CTP.
He concluded: “If he was able to mobilize numerous teams of volunteer searchers, helicopters, dogs, thermal imaging cameras to save the life of a 5-year-old child lost in an inaccessible wooded area, and they found him in 48 hours, it means that Romania is not yet a failed state, we can still hope”.
The statements come in the context in which President Nicușor Dan hosted on Wednesday, at the Cotroceni Palace, the 11th edition of the Bucharest Format Summit 9. The event took place in the presence of representatives of the B9 member states, the Nordic countries, the USA and Ukraine.
Representing US President Donald Trump is Thomas G. DiNanno, who serves as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security at the US State Department.
