French actor Gerard Depardieu could receive a sentence of one and a half years in prison with suspension, according to the request of prosecutors in Paris.

The French Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday requested an 18 -month prison sentence and three years of conditional freedom for the famous actor Gerard Depardieu. He is accused of sexually assaulted two women during filming for the movie Le Volets Verts, according to Agerpres.
In addition, prosecutors have requested that the actor be obliged to pay a fine of 20,000 euros, to compensate the victims and to follow mandatory psychological counseling sessions. It was also requested to register in the register of sex criminals and to prohibit public functions for two years.
Prosecutor Laurent Guy stressed that the victims were “In a situation of social inferiority and gap in relation to the aggressor’s celebrity during the filming”, Given the fame and status of Depardieu in French cinema.
During the trial, the actor offered several versions of the events, which attracted the attention of the prosecutors. However, his lawyer, Jeremie Assous, rejected the accusations: “There was no change in version (…), everything is a lie”.
Depardieu, present in the court, did not make statements in the courtroom, but before hearing, he told the press that he was “tired”.
Carine Durrieu Dieblt, the lawyer of one of the applicants, said that “This indictment demonstrated the guilt of Gerard Depardieu”.
The two women who accuse him are Amelie, a 54 -year -old decorator, and Sarah (her first name and last name, a 34 -year -old assistant. They claim that the actor made them inappropriate advances and addressed them comments with sexual connotations.
The process continues with the plea of defense. In parallel, Depardieu is still investigated since 2020 for accusations of rape and sexual aggression.
