Ilie Bolojan, the current interim president of Romania, transmitted on his last day of mandate a message dedicated to the Romanians from the Diaspora, on the occasion of Romanians everywhere. He emphasized the importance of involving the state in supporting communities outside the borders.

“Dear Romanian people everywhere, today is an important day for all those who have Romania in the soul, wherever they are. Through work, efforts, values and habits you keep in families, carry on, even far from home, our identity as a people,” Bolojan transmitted on Facebook on Sunday, May 25th.
He acknowledged the difficulties facing Romanians established abroad: “Life away from home is not easy. You encounter challenges, you do sacrifices, but do not be discouraged. Romania needs you, not only as ambassadors of our identity, but also as partners in development projects. Whether you are entrepreneurs, professionals, artists or simple citizens, your experience and ideas can be part of your solutions.”
Ilie Bolojan pleaded for a more Romanian and receptive Romanian state to the needs of the diaspora: “The Romanian state has the obligation to be present, attentive and open to the diaspora. To listen, to understand and to build policies to support you.”
In conclusion, the interim president thanked the Romanians outside the borders for their contribution to the living of the Romanian spirit: “Thank you for keeping the Romanian community alive and for everything you do to represent our country. Happy Birthday! God keep you in guard, wherever you find out!”
The new president will be invested on Monday
Ilie Bolojan took over the mandate from former President Klaus Iohannis on February 12. He has the longest interim at the peak of the state, 100 days. During his term, Bolojan was self -sustaining from the position of interim president of the PNL, where he will return after the investment of the elected president, Nicușor Dan.
The solemn meeting of the Parliament for the investment of Nicușor Dan as President of Romania takes place on Monday, May 26, starting at 12:00, at the Parliament Palace. The event marks the official beginning of the five -year mandate of the new head of state, after the validation of the elections by the Constitutional Court (CCR).
