A football match played on Sunday between AFC Milan Academy and ACS Leamna, counting for the 28th stage of League 5, series 3, ended suddenly in the 75th minute when the referee of the match was assaulted by the players.
The 17-year-old “central” was physically and verbally assaulted right in front of his mother, who was watching the game. The woman called 112, then filed a complaint with the Police.
“Initially, they cursed him because he wouldn’t have seen a foul. The players were 30-40 years old, and the referees were 17 years old each. In the 57th minute, one of the Milan delegates and a player were shown red for protesting, and at that point they entered the pitch to chase the referee.
Cătălin ran to the edge of the lawn, and the observer and two or three other people intervened and cleared the field.
The game continued until the 75th minute when he awarded a penalty kick for the visitors. The protests started badly, and one of the Milan players slapped him across the face and moved his head! At that moment, he decided to stop the match.
He ran to the locker room with the phone in his hand and called 112. Later they caught him somewhere in the corner of the field, and 2-3 other players punched and kicked him on the back and ribs, where he doesn’t leave any marks“, said Mari Șearpe, the referee’s mother, for Fanatik.
A criminal case was opened
The police issued a statement announcing that they are investigating the crime of hitting or other violence, and on the sports side, AFJ Dolj will make a decision next week, when the Disciplinary Commission will be convened.
“Today, around 2:50 p.m., the policemen of the Craiova Police Department 3 were informed by a 43-year-old woman from the municipality of Craiova, regarding the fact that her son, 17 years old, from the same locality, a football referee, was physically assaulted on May 17, by the players of a football team, while refereeing a match in the municipality of Craiova.
In the case, the police have drawn up a criminal file under the aspect of committing the crime of hitting or other violence, and the investigations continued, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Craiova District Court, in order to accurately establish the factual situation.
