A recent survey shows that most women would rather snuggle next to a man with a pot belly than one with a perfectly sculpted abs. Only one in five women say they are attracted to an athletic guy, like soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Almost six out of ten participants in the study said they would choose a man with a so-called “dad bod”, that is, a relaxed body with a slight stomach or coils, similar to that of the actor Vince Vaughn. In contrast, severe obesity is clearly rejected, being preferred by only one in 25 people surveyed.
The survey was carried out on a sample of 2,000 people at the request of the dating site for married people illicitencounters.com, The Sun reports.
How male body types were classified
Participants were asked to rate different male body types on a scale of one to ten. “dad bods” ranked first, associated with stars such as Seth Rogen, Chris Pratt, Jon Hamm, Adam Sandler or Leonardo DiCaprio. This body type was preferred by 58 percent of women.
In second place was the athletic and toned look, represented by Cristiano Ronaldo, chosen by 22 percent of respondents.
The third place was occupied by the thin figure, as in the case of Mick Jagger or Jarvis Cocker, with ten percent of preferences. Next are very muscular men like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, preferred by six percent of women. At the bottom is the overweight guy, represented by the actor and musician Jack Black, who collected only four percent.
Why the “dad body” is so popular

The conclusion of the study is clear: for many women, naturalness and comfort weigh more than physical perfection.
