Liverpool achieved only one record victory against Atalanta, 1-0 in Bergamo, after “the cormorants”
they lost at Anfield 0-3. Mohamed Salah scored the English goal (7), from the penalty.
Liverpool and Atalanta met before in the 2020/21 Champions League season, in the group stage, “the cormorants” winning 5-0 in Bergamo, and Atalanta 2-0 at Anfield.
Olympique Marseille defeated Benfica in penalty kicks, 4-2, after winning 1-0 at the end of extra time. Benfica won the round, 2-1.
Faris Moumbagna (80) scored the goal that sent the match into overtime. In the shootout, Argentine Angel Di Maria, an expert in penalties, missed (bar), alongside Antonio Silva, Joaquin Correa, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Leonardo Balerdi and Luis Henrique converted for OM, and for Benfica, Orkun Kokcu , Nicolas Otamendi.
AS Roma beat AC Milan 2-1, after beating San Siro 1-0.
The team coached by Daniele De Rossi opened the scoring through Gianluca Mancini (12), who had brought victory in Milan, and through Paulo Dybala (22). The hosts remained in ten men from the min. 31, when the Turkish Zeki Celik was eliminated, but Milan managed to score only once, through Matteo Gabbia (86).
In this Serie A season, the Giallorossi lost both duels with the Rossoneri, 1-2 at home and 1-3 away.
Bayer Leverkusen, the new champions of the Bundesliga, drew away with West Ham United, 1-1, after winning 2-0 in the round.
Michail Antonio (13) opened the scoring for “woodpeckers”and Jeremie Frimpong (89) saved Bayer from their first defeat of the season.
The semi-finals will take place on May 2 and 9, and the final will take place on May 22, at the Dublin Arena.
