OpenAI is working on one of the most ambitious transformations yet for ChatGPT, with the company planning to develop it into a “great app” which brings together in one place tools for programming, imaging, data analysis and AI agents capable of performing complex tasks autonomously.
According to information published by the Financial Times, the new development direction could be presented in the coming weeks and would be available both on the web version and in mobile applications. The platform could also integrate products and services developed by OpenAI partners, writes Baha.
ChatGPT, from chatbot to a complete digital assistant
The company’s plan is for ChatGPT to move beyond its current role as a conversational tool and become a one-stop digital hub for users.
Thus, in addition to existing functions, users could have access to software development tools, imaging applications, and AI agents to perform complex tasks without constant user intervention.
“We’re moving towards a system where every user will have their own personal agent, capable of helping them in all aspects of life,” said Thibault Sottiaux, head of products at OpenAI, quoted by the Financial Times.
Revenue growth strategy
The transformation of ChatGPT is part of a larger plan by which OpenAI seeks to expand its presence in the area of services aimed at companies and develop products with higher monetization potential.
At the same time, the company is facing increasingly strong competition in the field of artificial intelligence, both from the big players in the industry and from new startups developing AI solutions for the business environment.
Sources cited by the British publication claim that the project is considered an important step in strengthening OpenAI’s position on the market and in identifying new sources of income.
One stop for productivity and digital life
OpenAI’s vision is to reduce the need for users to use multiple separate applications for different tasks. Instead of switching from one program to another, users could find functions for work, organization, analysis, scheduling and automation of daily tasks in one platform.
If the company’s plans are fully implemented, ChatGPT could evolve from a simple conversational assistant into a complex digital platform aimed at both ordinary users and the professional environment.
