The National Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) announced on Friday the withdrawal from the market of a spoon for feeding babies and small children, stating that they have components that can represent a choking hazard.
ANSVSA stated that it is about the spoon “babylove Esslernlöffel”marketed by the DM-Drogerie Markt store chain.
“ANSVSA informs consumers that DM-Drogerie Markt is withdrawing the product “babylove Esslernloffel” (babylove feeding spoon) from the market, as a preventive measure to protect the safety of babies and small children”ANSVSA representatives sent in a post on the institution’s Facebook page.
According to the cited source, the decision was taken as a preventive measure to protect the safety of babies and young children.
The affected products are: Batch code (Chargencodierung): 2521 and 2532; EAN: 4067796183429.
“During use of the product there is a possibility that small parts of the spoon may detach. These components may pose a choking hazard to babies and small children”the statement also states.

Since the batch code is not written on the actual spoons, consumers are asked to stop using the product, regardless of the batch code, and return it to any DM store in the country.
The value of the product will be refunded in full, even without presenting the tax receipt, the representatives of the institution also sent.
“DM-Drogerie Markt apologizes for the inconvenience caused and advises customers to inform other people who may have the product, including if it was given as a gift or borrowed”it is also shown in the message.
