George Simion, the leader of AUR, declared on Thursday, in Târgu Jiu, that his party is willing to enter the government “for the Romanians“, but he will not nominate any party with which he could collaborate.
Asked if he would accept a governing formula alongside the PSD, George Simion avoided a direct answer, according to Agerpres:
“We would enter the government for the Romanians, I will not nominate parties. We are interested in a prime minister proposed by AUR. We will see if we are invited, according to the Constitution, by President Nicusor Dan, to present what we want. If not, we present to the Romanians“.
The President of the AUR emphasized that the head of state must appoint a prime minister next week, after consulting all the parliamentary parties, as provided by the Constitution.
George Simion specified that, in case of an invitation to Cotroceni, he will go accompanied by Petrişor Peiu and Dan Dungaciu, considering that it is essential to show respect to the AUR voters and to publicly present the conditions for entering the government.
“A dismissed prime minister would have resigned. Bolojan clings to his position”
The AUR leader criticized the fact that, after the dismissal of the Bolojan Government through a motion of censure, the constitutional consultation procedure was not immediately triggered:
“A dismissed prime minister would have resigned. Bolojan clings to his position. Nicuşor Dan should have respected the Constitution and called us in the order of the electoral results, not to informal discussions that do not exist in the Constitution“said Simion
Asked if the AUR could initiate the suspension of the president if he is not invited to the consultations, George Simion avoided a decisive position.
The AUR leader added that the president must come up with a proposal for prime minister next week.
We remind you that Sorin Grindeanu, the PSD leader, said on Wednesday, May 6, that the formation he leads excludes the option of forming a government in which the prime minister comes from the AUR area, stressing that the PSD wants a coalition with a pro-Western orientation.
George Simion participated on Thursday in Târgu Jiu at the event “Stop the destruction of energy in Romania” and at the conference “Romania between Brâncusi and Eliade”.
