Romanian goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan, 27 years old, is on the verge of a new career move, after a difficult period at Real Oviedo, where his developments were below expectations.
From 2026, he could defend the goal of the Spezia team, occupying the 18th place in Serie B.
Although he has played little in recent months and lost contact with the Romanian national team, the Moldovan continues to be a goalkeeper sought after by clubs. According to Italian media, Spezia will initially take him on loan from Atletico Madrid, with the possibility of a permanent transfer, and his salary will be shared by the two clubs.
Favorite in the race for his signature
The Romanian was in competition with three other goalkeepers to sign with Spezia, but the management of the Italian team chose him, considering him the best option for the goalkeeper position.
“Horațiu Moldovan defeated the competitors of Radunovic (who is in the sights of Sampdoria), Bardi (a very high salary and in the sights of those from Mantova and South Tyrol) and Contini. Gomis, on the other hand, had been offered by his agents at Spezia but was not actually a target for the club.
The goalkeeper of the Romanian national team wants to leave Real Oviedo, where he lacks consistency in La Liga!”wrote the Italians from calciospezia.it.
Horațiu Moldovan earns just over a million euros a year at Atletico Madrid, and in recent months it is very likely that Real Oviedo have covered around half of his salary.
