An unknown song by the band Queen, in which the voice of Freddie Mercury is heard. “Nobody’s Ever Heard This Version”

Brian May, the guitarist of the band Queen, revealed on Monday, December 22, during a show on the radio station Planet Rock, an unreleased track of the legendary British group, which was not included on the second album of the group, in which the voice of the legendary Freddie Mercury can be heard.

Entitled “Not For Sale (Polar Bear)“, the song, one composed by May, was broadcast in a special Christmas show on the British radio station Planet Rock, informs AFP, quoted by Agerpres.

Recorded for the band’s second album, “Queen II” released in 1974, the track was ultimately not included on the disc. A pirated version of the song, however, from the days of the band Smile, founded by May before his years in Queen, would have circulated among fans.

One of the voices appears to be lead singer Freddie Mercury

“It’s an old song, but as far as I know, no one has ever heard this versione”, declared the guitarist introducing the song, in which several voices intertwine, one of which appears to be that of lead singer Freddie Mercury.

“I’m broadcasting this version (here) because I’m curious to know the reactions of the public,” he added, specifying that the song will appear on the reissued edition of the album, scheduled for 2026.

The musician evoked the songs, anecdotes and stories that marked his Christmases.

Formed in 1979, Queen became one of the iconic rock bands thanks to the voice of Freddie Mercury, the guitar of Brian May, the bass lines of John Deacon and the energetic drums of Roger Taylor.

Known for mixing genres, the group remained in the public memory through hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “Another One Bites the Dust.”
