The American actor of Romanian origin Sebastian Stan will star in the film “The Batman 2”

The American actor of Romanian origin Sebastian Stan could take the step to the DC Comics universe. According to Variety, the Oscar-nominated star for “The Apprentice” is in talks to join the film’s cast “The Batman Part II”, where the main role is played by Robert Pattinson.

For now, it has not been revealed the character that Sebastian Stan could play, and the producers have not confirmed whether he will be an ally or an adversary of Bruce Wayne. However, the actor is already well known to the public for his roles in superhero films, having played Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier in several Marvel productions.

The Matt Reeves-directed sequel is scheduled to go into production next spring, with an official release set for October 2027 under the Warner Bros. banner. The first film in the series, released in March 2022, was a major success, grossing approximately $772 million worldwide.

The script for “The Batman Part II” is signed by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, and the cast continues to expand. Recently, Scarlett Johansson was co-opted into the project, and the already confirmed cast includes Colin Farrell, as Oz Cobb (The Penguin), Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also expected to return as the Joker.

Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson previously collaborated on several productions in the Avengers series, and Stan also starred opposite Robert Pattinson in the film “The Devil All the Time”, released on Netflix in 2020.

Director Matt Reeves recently spoke about the sequel’s long preparation process, stating that he wanted to exceed the level of the first film, which was appreciated by both critics and audiences. He also mentioned the strict measures taken to keep the script secret, including special security systems for accessing documents.

Professionally, Sebastian Stan recently appeared in “Thunderbolts”a Marvel movie that didn’t do well at the box office. The actor is also known for his roles in “I, Tonya” and “A Different Man”, and in the next period it will be able to be seen in “Avengers: Doomsday” and in the thriller “Fjord”.
