Also, according to the new methodology, stricter than that of 2011, the program is interrupted if the student obtains the grade “Good” (at primary school) or an average below 9 (at middle school and high school) in the summative assessments at the end of the second module . In the past, the program was interrupted only in the case of non-promotion in 3 disciplines/modules.

The counselor deals with the new methodology and with the emotional and behavioral monitoring of the student, not just participating in the initial assessment.

How students can enter the program

To be accepted into the program, students must pass an interdisciplinary test, “from the curriculum of the grade prior to the current grade” with a minimum score of 80%.

The necessary documents for registration are the registration request of the parent or legal guardian, the personal file, the result obtained in the previously mentioned test, the favorable opinion of the school counselor, the school doctor or the family doctor and that of the teaching council of the educational unit.

Each school will have a committee that will develop the test, organize the testing and monitor the process and consists of the principal or deputy of the school (chairman), 2 teachers in the case of primary education (one of them must teach in the examinee’s class) and the school counselor .

For middle school and high school education, in addition to the president and advisor, 2 or 3 specialized teachers from the subjects in the common core and the principals of the class the student belongs to at the time of submitting the application also participate.

How the module works

At the beginning of the year, the student enrolled in the module appears in two catalogs, the one of the current year and the next one, in the “Mentions” section, being specified as participating in the module.

Within this module, the student completes at least 50% of the school courses of the current year and 40% of the following year, according to the personalized learning plan developed by the monitoring committee.

Mostly, he learns individually, but he also has to go to consultations provided by the teacher.

The student is evaluated either through written, oral or practical tests, and the exam schedule is established following discussions with the student, parents and class leaders. Assessments are summative and take place at the end of modules 2 and 5.

If the student’s subject average is lower than 9, or if he does not pass at least three subjects, the program is interrupted.

However, it can also be terminated at the request of the student, the parents or at the reasoned recommendation of the committee.

After the module is terminated, it returns to the current class.

When are the registrations?

The request made by the parent or legal guardian is submitted between March 1 and May 1. After review by the school/high school board, the student will take the interdisciplinary test if approved.

After it is approved, the school doctor or family doctor, teachers and principals must draw up the necessary reports.
