The heartbreaking moment in the Netflix miniseries “adolescence” that was not provided for in the scenario

One of the images you stay with the retina after watching the disturbing of the “adolescent” miniseries – which records an amazing success on Netflix – was not part of the scenario.

The “corrupt adolescence” (the title of the film in Romanian) tells how the life of a family is given over the head, when a 13 -year -old boy Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested for killing a school colleague.

Stephen Graham (the co-producer and co-sstenearist of the series) who plays the role of Eddie Miller, the father of adolescent Jamie and an “appropriate adult”, has an emotional interpretation during the four episodes in which you wonder whether or not Jamie has committed the crime of which he is accused, but one of the endeavor.

This is the final scene of the miniseries, which offers viewers a disturbing last moment, the one in which the father kisses the teddy bear of his son Jamie, apologizing to the toy, as if it were his own boy, according to Tudum, the official Netflix website.

“I felt that there was something in the fact that he covers Jamie’s plush.”

Director Philip Barantini revealed, for the quoted source, that the emotional moment was not part of the scenario.

According to the scenario, the father had only to go to Jamie’s bed and draw the blanket over the teddy bear, as if he were an avatar for his arrested son.

“I repeated, and it was great. But I felt that there was something in the fact that he covers Jamie’s plush.”says Barantini.

“This is the only thing Eddie has and can touch – which is malleable, which Jamie hugged and with whom Jamie was. And then Stephen has acquired this.”

“It is truly heartbreaking to see how this family breaks down”

Improvised moment but so exciting, marks the end of the episode that Barantini calls “heart” adolescence.

“Each individual member of the Miller family tries to support the other. And, in their turn, they actually break each other. It is really heartbreaking to see how this family breaks down “Says Barantini.
