The Inter -ministerial Committee to protect the interests of the state at SC Liberty Galați SA and SC Liberty Tubular Products Galați – SA had today, at the Victoria Palace, the first working meeting under the coordination of Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu.

The members of the Committee analyzed the economic-financial and legal situation of the two companies, SC Liberty Galați SA and SC Liberty Tubular Products Galați-SA, from the perspective of financial obligations and judicial procedures, as well as from a social point of view.
An important point of today’s meeting for constituted the analysis of possible solutions to protect the state interests at SC Liberty Galați SA and SC Liberty Tubular Products Galați – SA, for the continuation of the production activity by the two companies, as well as to attract the potential investors interested in taking or supporting the production activity of the two companies.
The workman Marian Neacșu, the head of the Prime Minister, Mihai Jurca, the Secretary General of the Government, Stefan-Radu Oprea, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, of the National Fiscal Administration and EXIM Banca Romania, participated in the working meeting.

The main tasks of the Committee:
• Analysis of the economic-financial and legal situation of the two companies, in relation to the existing financial obligations and the judicial procedures;
• Exposure analysis Exim Banca Românească – SA and the claims that it, the National Agency for Fiscal Administration, companies and companies with majority state capital have on the two companies;
• Analysis of effects and proposal for measures to reduce social impact in case of restriction or closing of the activity of the two companies;
• formulating the proposals for legislative changes to protect the interests of the state in the two companies;
• analysis and establishing the necessary measures to continue the production activity by the two companies;
• Analysis of the intentions of potential investors interested in taking over or supporting the production activity of the two companies.
After each meeting or at the request of the Prime Minister, the Committee presents reports on the stage of fulfilling the measures and duties. It can also request data, information, reports, situations, as well as any other relevant documents from any public institutions or authorities, as well as from public enterprises to which the Romanian state is a majority shareholder.
